Heritage Park and Gardens: Wedding Photography

December 9, 2013
A new wedding venue is available in North Central Florida!  As a giant wedding nerd I was excited to find out that this cute historic home in Live Oak, on several acres of gardens with rustic out-buildings is now open for private events.

It also has:
A massive semi-circle pergola cloaked in vines and stone
A formal parlor with original vintage furniture and fixtures
Vintage metal and stone n entry gate and tree lined drive
Red Brick Facade with a large white colonnade
Acres of manicured gardens and flower beds
A Rustic wood shed and "servants quarters" buildings intact from it's early days.
A back field open to the stars
An outdoor bar/cooking space with fire pit area.
An ceremony site
Full working kitchen
Bridal Room
Grooms Room

Here are some of the images of the lovely Carissa and our Bridal Couple that I took featuring some of the spaces available.
Enjoy! K

Golden Ocala Country Club: New Rustic Barn Weddings

December 3, 2013
It is my great honor to share the first images of the new beautiful outdoor wedding ceremony area at Golden Ocala Golf and Equestrian Club in Ocala, Florida.
With beautiful century oaks draped in Spanish moss and golden afternoon sunlight, fields, rolling hills, a horse barn with hay bale pews it's a new twist on the traditional "Country Club" wedding.  Or... it's best of both worlds. Not only do you have the option of the stunning ballrooms, gardens and clubhouse but now you also have the opportunity to combine them to suit your personal style.

Coordinator: Ana Maria Soler "Ocala Wedding Architect"

Alexandria & Josiah: A South Florida Museum Celebration

August 22, 2013
Love. In their own words....
"We met our freshmen year of college. I thought he was a cute preachers boy and he thought I was a beautiful wild thing!

However, our superficial ideas of who each other were all changed one night. All it took was a late night walk in the rain, a ridiculous hunt for spaghetti, and a conversation straight from the heart to spark a connection between us that only continues to grow.

On November 3, 2012, we took a day trip to Gatlinburg, Tennessee, for Alexandria's birthday. Josiah had gotten the ring in early September and had been waiting for the opportune moment to propose. On our way through the mountains, Alexandria suggested pulling off the road and going down to the river to take some pictures. Once alongside the water, we both hopped some rocks till we were on a large rock in the middle of the rushing river. Alexandria was busy taking pictures--completely oblivious to everything else. Josiah came up behind her, got down on one knee, and popped the question!

And of course, she said 'yes!'
Proud papa Dale watches from the foyer as Alexandria becomes a bride.

His Favorite Moments:
"It is hard to pick out one memorable moment of such a special day. First, the butterflies in my stomach as I watch Alexandria walk down the aisle towards me. I loved sharing our vows with each other. And to cap the day off, dancing the night away with all our close friends. "

Josiah's father performed the ceremony as a wonderful special touch. I just adore this photo too! Every person and expression is priceless to them.
Her Favorite Moments:

"Wow what's a girl to say, it was a day filled with precious moments. One of my most cherished ones was getting to exchange vows with my soulmate. We wrote the vows ourselves so every word had a deep reach into our hearts."
First Communion Together

"He loves me even when I am unlovable and I know thats why this marriage is going to last forever."
The post aisle-return celebration dance!
Love you guys!  Kelly, Dale and Margie... you have raised a wonderful, bright and beautiful family!
Harlem Shake It boys!
Manatee lovin to set the mood.
Advice from Alexandria and Josiah:
"Be in agreement with your fiancee. Compromise, sacrifice, and let it all go the morning of the wedding and just enjoy the day--no matter what goes wrong. Don't let a wonderful day with your new spouse, your closest friends, and family go to waste.

Hire a top of the line photographer like Krystal (...or just get Krystal!) and make sure you talk about what you are expecting on the day of. Don't let yourself get distracted by continually trying to look good for the camera. Number one it would get super tiring, and number two the pictures will be beautiful and timeless if you just let go and be yourself."

Rebecca & Aaron: Opposites Attract

July 13, 2013
She is a vegetarian... he IS NOT.
She has lots of tattoos and piercings... he DOES NOT.
She is a photographic artist.... he is a police officer.
But they both have something in common... they love each other crazy.

Her Favorite Moment of the Day:
"Our written vows to each other. Neither of us is super mushy, so it was really nice to be able to tell Aaron how I felt about us and our future in front of all our friends and family."
Becky tears-up while rehearsing the vows she has written for Aaron.
His Favorite Moment of the Day:
"When I first got to see her walk down the aisle, because I got to see how beautiful she was."

Aaron's Favorite Photos of the Day:
"I like the photos of us in front of the barn because it is very-very old and we are very-very new."

Becky Agrees:
"They are super cute and I'm not fake smiling. Plus the story behind them is really cute."

The moral of this story:
Trespassing is cool kids. And as long as it results in a last-minute adventure and good photos it's probably worth it despite rainclouds, running across country highways and the possiblility that the owner of said location probably has a shotgun.
You can't have a southern wedding without pecan pies!
Advice from the Bride and Groom for other couples:
"Relax. Enjoy the day. It goes by quickly, I PROMISE if something is out of place, you won't even notice and neither will your guests. Rain happens. Plans fall through sometimes. Look online for ideas, make what you can, enlist friends if you can't. Don't spend hundreds of dollars on stuff that gets thrown away. Invest in your dress, his suit, and the photography. Everything else is details."

"Trust your photographer! They know what makes you look good. Look at wedding blogs for ideas, but remember that every bride and every wedding is different- if you're 5'0, you aren't likely to look exactly like the model-bride you saw. Do a first look. Some of our favorite photos are from there, we were less stressed and still looked fresh since it was all humid and such."
